Lost Wax Casting by Kobayashi Casting - Achieving Japanese Quality in Vietnam
Technology / product information
At Kobayashi Casting, we utilize the lost wax casting method, ideal for manufacturing complex-shaped components, to deliver stainless steel cast parts with exceptional precision and stable quality.
Overview
Lost wax casting is a casting method particularly effective for producing complex metal components with high accuracy, especially when using stainless steel.
Kobayashi Casting is a 100% Japanese-owned company operating in Vietnam, specializing in stainless steel casting using the lost wax method. A fully in-house production system—from mold design, casting, and machining to quality inspection—ensures technical stability and reliable delivery times.
Features
- High-precision casting of complex and thin-walled components
- High dimensional accuracy with tolerances of up to ±0.01 mm
- Smooth surface finish that minimizes post-processing machining
- Compatible with a wide range of corrosion-resistant materials such as SUS304 (SCS13), SUS316 (SCS14), and CF3M
- Over 90% of products are exported to Japan, the U.S., Europe, and Asian markets
Manufacturing Process
- Mold design and fabrication (using CAD/3D)
- Wax model formation
- Formation of ceramic shell (multi-layer coating)
- Dewaxing to create internal cavities
- High-temperature shell firing (around 1000 °C)
- Stainless steel melting and pouring
- Shell removal and finishing
- Dimensional, material, hardness, and composition inspections (using 3D measuring machines and composition analyzers)
Applications
- Piping components and fittings for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical machinery
- Internal components for valves, pumps, and fluid control equipment
- Small, complex parts for medical and analytical devices
- Corrosion-resistant components for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and chemical plants
At Kobayashi Casting, we ensure a stable supply of complex-shaped components through high-precision lost wax casting that meets Japanese standards. Our fully in-house system, including wax model production, enables short lead times, high quality, and cost efficiency.
