【Prime Minister Srettha's Visit】 Manufacturing Business Matching in Bangkok

Conducted 916 business negotiations over 4 days, with estimated sales reaching 563% of the previous year, contributing to Thailand's EV car productionFBC ASEAN Manufacturing Business Matching Report　NC Network Corporation (Headquarters: Taito-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Yasuo Uchihara), which operates the manufacturing business matching platform "EMIDAS," held the "FBC ASEAN 2024 Manufacturing Business Matching" in Bangkok from Wednesday 15th May to Saturday 18th May 2024, to support the business expansion of Japanese companies in Thailand.Purpose and Background 　The Thai government announced an EV development plan in 2021, aiming to make 30% of total vehicle production EVs by 2030 to promote the adoption of EVs. The number of BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) registrations in 2023 increased to about 76,000 units, approximately eight times higher than the previous year. This surge has resulted in a decrease in the market share of Japanese manufacturers from 85% to about 75%. In this market environment, many Japanese companies in Thailand are aiming to enter the Chinese EV market and expand their sales channels to Thai local companies (reference: Announcement by the Federation of Thai Industries). 　Against this background, NC Network organized this business matching to facilitate matching between Japanese companies, Chinese manufacturers, and Thai local companies. The goal is to create opportunities for Japanese companies to enter the Thai EV market and contribute to new market entry by collaborating with the highly skilled Thai manufacturing industry. Event Results 　Seven Chinese EV manufacturers, including BYD, which plan to start production in Thailand from 2025, participated as buyers. The number of visitors increased by 2,000 from the previous year to 44,773, and 916 business negotiations (estimated sales of 415,593,286 THB) were conducted over four days. There was particularly active movement in finding suppliers for Chinese EV manufacturers, with many Japanese exhibitors reporting that they secured many deals progressing to concrete negotiations. Additionally, this business matching was held in collaboration with the Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association to promote business matching between Thai local companies and Japanese companies. More than 100 high-quality local companies exhibited in the subcontractor area, and there was active business matching between Japanese companies and local companies. 　Furthermore, Thai Prime Minister Srettha attended the opening ceremony, where he spoke about the "technical capabilities of Japanese companies" and the "growing investment of Chinese companies," which increased the attention on this business matching as a platform for matching Chinese EV manufacturers with Japanese companies. 　Next year, the business matching is also planned to be held in Bangkok. Manufacturing Industry Networking Event in Bangkok

 On May 15, NC Network Asia hosted a networking event for the manufacturing industry. A total of 110 participants from 85 companies attended and deepened their connections.
