Kobayashi Casting Obtains PED / AD 2000 W0 Certification – Demonstrating European-Standard Capability in Stainless Steel Investment Casting

Kobayashi Casting has officially obtained the PED 2014/68/EU certification in combination with AD 2000 W0, issued by TÜV SÜD, an EU Notified Body.
This certification confirms the company’s capability to manufacture and control the quality of austenitic stainless steel cast materials for pressure equipment applications in the European market.

Unlike product-based approvals, the PED certification focuses on the entire material quality assurance system, covering incoming materials, melting and pouring processes, post-casting treatments, inspection, and full batch traceability, in strict compliance with PED requirements.

Incoming material control: Chemical composition management for each grade of austenitic stainless steel, verified against technical standards from the melting preparation stage

Melting and pouring control: Monitoring of melting temperatures, chemical composition analysis using specialized equipment, ensuring consistency for each heat

Post-casting control: Heat treatment, surface cleaning, defect removal, and stabilization of mechanical properties

Final product inspection: Dimensional inspection using 3D coordinate measuring machines (CMM), visual inspection, and full quality documentation traceability by production batch
