Overview
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining technology that does not melt the base materials.
A rotating tool is pressed into the joint area, generating frictional heat and plastic flow to bond the materials together.
This technology is especially suitable for joining dissimilar materials or light metals such as aluminum.
Ohno Seiko applies FSW to reduce production steps in cooling plate manufacturing and ensure stable joints between different materials.
