CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) Coating is a method of forming a 4-8μm film on a material in an atmosphere of 800-1000℃.

Although CVD coating can improve the wear resistance of cemented carbide, the TRS decreases.

As the layer becomes thicker, the TRS decreases.

Also, as the grain size becomes finer, the TRS decreases.

The surface of CVD coating is difficult to polish, and it is generally said that the surface roughness of CVD coating is inferior to that of cemented carbide.
