Two-Color Co-Extrusion: Two-Layer Extrusion Technology with Rigid and Flexible PVC
Technology / product information
At Akebono Kasei Vietnam, we have established two-color extrusion molding technology that simultaneously processes two types of materials: rigid and flexible PVC. This technology enables integrated molding of materials with different properties into a single product, delivering excellent results in both functionality and productivity.
This sample is a component for a wine cellar. By simultaneously extruding rigid PVC and flexible PVC, the two-color extrusion process produces composite products that achieve both durability and sealing/airtightness, supporting mass production. This technology is also ideal for construction materials and home appliances.
Specifications
Molding method: Two-color extrusion
Materials: Rigid PVC + Flexible PVC
Supported sizes: Up to 250 mm width, approx. 15 mm thickness (depending on shape)
Equipment: Multiple extrusion lines capable of two-layer extrusion
Features
Integrated molding of rigid + flexible PVC eliminates the need for adhesive, achieving both product strength and sealing/airtightness
Profile extrusion technology enables production of complex cross-sectional shapes
Optimal temperature and extrusion control tailored to different PVC materials
Technical collaboration with headquarters in Japan ensures high precision and stable quality
Applications
Inspection covers and building frames: Ensures frame strength while maintaining sealing performance
Wine cellar and refrigerator parts: Integrated gasket-molded components around doors
Appliance panels & decorative frames: Reduced assembly via single-step molding
Our products are widely used by manufacturers of building materials, home appliances, AV equipment, and refrigeration/storage equipment manufacturers.
In industries requiring multifunctional components, two-color extrusion is attracting attention as a high-durability, assembly-free processing method that eliminates the need for adhesives or secondary assembly steps.
