Spinning the threads of expectation and reliance throughout its history and weaving them into the future

Since our foundation more than 60 years ago, MORIKAWA has gained high marks from our clients. This is because we have developed and introduced unique technologies and products in several highly specialized fields and have been creating new markets. Valves for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning manufactured by the Valve Division and Organic Solvent Gas Recovery Devices manufactured by the Environment Division have become major operations forming the MORIKAWA of today. We have created markets as a pioneer, and we are still leading today.

The experience and achievements we have accumulated in our history have become technology and service that gain customer trust and enable us to continue with our operation.

The core of our strategy is the "Niche Top" strategy. We have been improving our name value in specific fields by polishing our skills in the fields we chose to focus on. We respond to customer expectations by ensuring that “MORIKAWA will do it,” and “Only MORIKAWA can do it” as we answer social demands by continuing to polish our skills and improve our strengths in manufacturing.

Lastly, I would like to tell you of the principle that I treasure more than anything else.

My principle is “treasure people.”

When I assumed the position of president, I wanted to create a work environment that enabled employees to be full of energy, and so I set the goal, “Make MORIKAWA the most pleasant company to work at.”

Employees are treasure. I cannot do anything without them. All I have is appreciation for them.

I want to grow while interacting with people, I want to form a vision together with people. That’s the kind of person I want to be and I would like MORIKAWA to be able to contribute to society.

History

1961 Hisashi Morikawa establishes a valve factory under Morikawa Industries, aiming to market in-house products. Morikawa Kogyo Inc. begins as the exclusive distributor, implementing an integrated production system covering casting to testing, and launching valve sales for refrigeration.
1965 Renamed Morikawa Valve.
1968 Headquarters moves to Tokyo and partners with Nikkiso Co. for non-seal pumps.
1972 Partners with Emerson Electric, becoming its exclusive Japanese agent.
1998 S-type device earns the Tokyo Industrial Technology Award. Morikawa Valve and Tokyo office merge into MORIKAWA Co., Ltd., with divisions for Refrigerant, Environmental, and Electronics.
1999 A new business phase begins with the New Field Advancement Law. The S-type device garners the 26th Outstanding Environmental Device Award. The Environmental Division starts in Nagano.
2002 A business plan focusing on environmental equipment commences, the Nagano Office integrates operations, and capital increases to 31 million yen.
2005-2008 The S-type device gets high marks in environmental tech tests, the company is listed among 300 Energetic Manufacturing SMEs, and capital grows to 97 million yen. It wins the 11th Protect the Ozone Layer and Prevent Global Warming Award.
2010-2013 Co-develops with Tokyo’s Industrial Research Institute, opens a Tokyo office, and the S-type device wins another award.
2017-2018 Headquarters move to Higashi-Ikebukuro, Tsuyoshi Morikawa becomes President, and the S-type device (Model F) wins another product award. Chairman Kiyoshi Morikawa is honored with The Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays.
2019 Takes over valve production from Morikawa Industries, enhancing sales and manufacturing integration, and streamlines the Chikuma Distribution Center.
2020-2022 Selected for Global Niche Companies 100 and achieves ISO9001 Certification.
